OnePlus 9 Series Design Revealed

OnePlus 9

Waiting is a boring idea for all of us, and we witness it in our daily life. When we are in the middle of traffic, and the moment when the green light gleams, you hear a bunch of horns go off all at the same time. Why? Because people have no patience to hold on even for a few minutes.

No matter how many ever supermarkets are out there, the one thing they all share in common is the long line at the billing counter. Additionally, anyone newly joining the queue will take a second to check for the shortest line owing to our innate nature of being impatient. But as Aristotle said, “Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.”

Similarly, we all are eagerly waiting for the launch of the OnePlus 9, which is fortunately not far away and is set to launch on 3rd March 2021. There is no doubt the smartphone that is to be introduced by OnePlus will definitely be a trendsetter. Recently a tweet on 15th March 2021 has sparked the audience’s excitement on the new arrival.

The tweet by Mr Pete Lau, co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of OnePlus, had some stunning images of the OnePlus 9 Pro. Yes, putting out the pictures of a smartphone before its launch event is not exactly the norm, but remember, this is OnePlus. They are maestros in executing new ideas. And the motive of tweeting photographs of the smartphone is to give the audience a general idea about the device’s look and feel.

As tweeted by him, the mobile looks so simple at first glance. But the more you observe it; you are bound to fall in love with the design automatically. This blog will give you a clear idea of the OnePlus 9 Series smartphones assumed from these images.

Colours

Pleasant colours bring a sense of calm and relaxation, and our favourite tones will make us feel enthusiastic. The idea behind producing smartphones in so many various shades is that the saturation of colours attracts and increases attention.

Similarly, the first catchy aspect in those tweeted images of the mobile phone was its unique colour. The device comes in two different winning colours: Morning Mist and Winter Mist. Its appearance on the smartphone is breathtaking. You can choose any of the two shades that reflect your personality.

Back Panel

The back panel of the device has the OnePlus signature curve, just like in the OnePlus 8 Pro. Also, the backside is supposed to be of a glass finish. The mirror finish on the back panel makes it more classy. It reflects everything around, and the glossiness adds to the aesthetics. It may look like a smooth design that could lead to accidental slips and drops, but its perfect dimensions make it a snug fit in your palm.

Dimensions

The smartphone is assumed to have a length of 6.33″ and a width of 2.92″. Just like height and width, the thickness and weight also matter a lot in a smartphone. The mobile may come with a thickness of .33″, weighing just 195 grams. The device is slightly bigger and heavier than the previous mobile. This may be because of the tiny changes in the design, like the frame.

Framework

The frame of the device is cut around the sleep and notification button. Generally, an OnePlus phone is known for its even uniform frame and not for angular cuts in the frame, but the OnePlus 9 has an angular cut frame. The device has introduced a unique feature with design inspirations taken from Apple.

The special feature is the notification button that comes along with the sleep-wake button. The notification button is to take the place of the volume control button to mute and unmute the notification alarm. Instead of turning on the device, sliding the notification panel and clicking on the mute option, you can directly mute it with a single button.

Camera

The significant change in the design of the OnePlus 9, compared with the previous-gen smartphone, is its rear camera. The improvement in the camera sector is super cool. The “HASSELBLAD” branding on the OnePlus 9 series camera array is enough to have our eyes open wide in utmost excitement.

The Hasselblad brand associating with OnePlus is a leading Swedish company known for its photography equipment and image scanners. The company is best known for its medium format cameras with top-notch quality. And a well-renowned company like Hasselblad forming a partnership with a smartphone brand is a rare case. Previously the Hasselblad brand collaborated with a smartphone company a few years back.

The device has a Quad-camera system with a primary custom-developed Sony IMX789 48 MP camera, 50 MP ultrawide lens camera, 8 MP telephoto lens camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. It is expected that the rear camera can record 4K videoes at 120 fps.

Display

The display of the OnePlus 9 Pro may have a 6.7″ QHD+ AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The four sides of the smartphone are designed in a curvy fashion inspired by the Samsung Galaxy S21 that makes it look more attractive while making it more comfortable for single-hand use. The OnePlus 9 on the other hand has a 6.5″ FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. This does not have a curvey structure on the four sides. Instead, it has a flat design.

You can get either the curvy model or the flat model as per your preference. The device supports 5G connectivity and comes in two storage variants: 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB, packing a 5000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. The OnePlus 9 series price range is unpredictable but is estimated to be similar to their previous generation of smartphones.
