Everything You Need to Know about the Realme GT2 Pro
Realme is one of those brands that have continued to stun us time and time again with their amazing range of smartphones. Their devices cater to affordable budgets and deliver performance that can rival some of the top tier smartphones in the market. However, this time Realme has outdone themselves with their flagship – The Realme GT Pro, and it is truly mind-blowing. Let’s take a look at what it packs.
Display
The Screen is a 6.7 inch LTPO2 AMOLED HDR10+ display perfect for contrast. It supports 10-bit colour that gives you a wide range of colours, up to 1B colours. The Screen has a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device has a peak brightness of 1400 nits. The LTPO 2.0 screen has an adaptive refresh rate that can go down to 1Hz when you are consuming static content. This allows for 50% more power saving. The Screen has very small bezels, allowing for more screen real estate.
Processor:
The chipset in the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a 4 nm high-end smartphone SoC that was introduced latter half of 2021. It is clocked at 3 GHz, consisting of an ARM Cortex-X2 architecture. It has three more performance cores 2.5 GHz but is based on the Cortex-A710.
It has four energy-saving cores based on the 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A510 architecture. All cores use the shared 6 MB level with 3 caches.
According to Qualcomm, the CPU part gains 20% performance and 30% power savings compared to the Snapdragon 888. This makes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 the fastest CPU for Android-based smartphones positioning it between the Apple A14 and A13 CPU.
The bigger and better Tensor engine allows the integrated AI Engine to offer up to 4x faster AI performance. At the same time, the 18-Bit-Spectra-ISP has also undergone some significant improvements and is now called Snapdragon Sight.
The integrated Adreno 730 offers a 30% graphics boost compared to the previous Adreno 660, letting you tackle some of the most graphics-intensive games on the market.
Cooling System:
Along with all that power comes the issues of heating. Realme has the answer in the form of a 9 layer cooling system comprising various components, including their signature Diamond Gel and a Stainless Steel Chamber with a Copper Alloy back that efficiently dissipates heat.
Memory and Storage:
The Realme GT2Pro is not just a flagship in terms of processing power. It has quite a bit when it comes to memory and storage options as well. The device ships out with 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM and 512GB 12GB RAM variants.
Camera:
The Camera is, however, could have been better, considering the flagship performance of the chipset is above and beyond expectations. It has a 50MP, f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.56″, 1.0µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS Main Camera, a 50MP, f/2.2, 15mm, 150˚ Ultrawide and a 3 MP, f/3.3, 20mm (microscope) with AF and 40x magnification to support a feature Realme calls Microscope mode.
Microscope Mode allows you to get up to 40 times closer to the subject in focus, allowing you to take macro photography to a whole new level. The only downside is that the images you get are just 2MP.
However, it does pack a ton of other cool camera modes, like ID mode, that lets you convert your otherwise regular selfie into a propr useable passport photo. Starry mode allows you to capture and enhance stars in the sky, much like Google Pixel’s Astronomy mode.
It even has a 3D model that can detect faces and separate them from the background for that added depth. The 150-degree ultra-wide mode allows you to access the true potential of the 50MP ultrawide, which in normal camera settings gives you a somewhat limited ultrawide view.
Battery:
The GT2 Pro comes with a huge 5000mAh battery that can keep this phone playing videos for 21 hours at a stretch. Charging is amazing, too, thanks to its 65W dart charge that allows you to charge the device in just 33 minutes fully.
Overall, Realme has done it again with the GT2 Pro, making it the example of a true flagship device with loads of features and is worth its price.
